Been spending a few days updating my photoshelter archive. Came across this image. It’s from the first story I did as a part of my honors project at university. Still got impact this one.
The shot is from a HIV/AIDS hospital in South Africa (actually, it was called a TB hospital due to the AIDS stigma).
I wonder how I would have shot this story today, eight years after.

Just got back from a Mallorca, Spain. Been working on a travel story. Will head for Chicago in a few hrs. Been spending way to many hrs on planes these last few weeks. But really looking forward to this assignment.

This photo is from a story I did on the Norwegian tag team wrestling championship a few weeks back. In black and white even…and I liked it. Guilty pleasure.
Norway in America. A picture from this month`s cover story in Aftenposten Innsikt. Americans with Norwegian ancestors still feel connected to the “motherland”. This picture is from a ski jump in the middle of Wisconsin. Once a year the “Norwegians” gather for the big ski jump event.
What I was doing this time last year. The photo was taken from the hotel during a break in shooting stone-throwing teenagers. The Syntagma is covered in smoke and teargas after two days of demonstrations in Athens.
Just got back from a 14 hr trip to Belgrade with Norwegian prime minster Jens Stoltenberg. I need to get a private jet, best flight ever.
Last weekend I followed Morten Harket, the former vocalist of 80´s superstars a-ha, during the last leg of his German tour. The story is published in this weekends edition of the Norwegian newspaper Dagens Næringsliv. The photos above didn’t make it past the picture editor.
From the archive. This photo is from a story about IDP´s in Georgia. Several hundred families had occupied a run down building in the centre of Tbilisi. The building would have electricity now and then, and all the families would share a few bathrooms. Most had been living there for more than 20 years.
Last week I did a story for my agency (VU). I was asked to photograph Mohamad who was shot and severly injured during the terror attacks at Utoya in july 2011. He lost one arm and one leg after being shot by Breivik. Now he is recieveing treatmend and trainig at Sunnaas Hospital at Nesodden near Oslo, Norway. On monday the trial against Breivik starts in Oslo.
